1. How do I clear the K800
Fuel Site Controller's transaction memory?
From the main menu select E -
Transactions, then from the Transaction menu select D - Erase. You
are prompted to enter a date in the format of MM, DD, YYYY. All transactions
on or before this date will be erased. If you enter * all the transactions
will be erased from the main memory. Once they've been erased, they cannot be
recovered.
2. Which
communication programs can be used to communicate to the K800 Fuel
Site Controller?
There are various types of communication
software that can communicate to the K800 Fuel Site Controller. Any
software that you intend to use must be able to emulate a WYSE 50 or
a VT100 terminal set for 7 data bits, even parity, and one stop bit.
The baud rate should be set to 9600 for the terminal port and 1200
or 2400 baud for the modem port. The two most common programs are Windows®
HyperTerminal and ProComm Plus.
3. Can
the transaction memory be increased in the K800 Fuel Site Controller?
No. The transaction memory in
the K800 Fuel Site Controller cannot be increased and holds 1800 transactions.
4. How
do I put the pumps in manual bypass?
The manual bypass switch is located
on the PV247 Fuel Island Terminal board. Open up the door and find
Dip Switch Number 1. The first 4 switches, positions 1 through 4, control
the relay position. To place a pump in manual bypass mode close the
switch that corresponds to the pump number you wish to place in manual
bypass mode. When in manual mode, no fuel transactions are recorded
by the K800 system.
5. How
do I enable the test mode in the K800 Fuel Island Terminal?
The switch to place the Fuel Island
Terminal into the test mode is located on the PV247 board. It is Switch
Number 2 Position 8. Move the switch to the closed position then turn
the power switch in the Fuel Island Terminal off and on. It should
now be in test mode. Simply answer Y/N for the test you want to perform.
6. How
do I adjust the contrast on the display?
The contrast adjustment potentiometer,
R94, is located on the PV247 Fuel Island Terminal board. To adjust
the contrast use a small, flathead screwdriver. Turn it clockwise and
counter clockwise until you achieve the best readability.
7. What
is the missing pulse detector timer?
The missing pulse detector timer
is used to monitor the pulses coming from the pump pulser. If the K800
does not see a pulse in a specific amount of time it will terminate
the transaction.
8. How
do I validate a key?
From the main menu select D -
Card/Key/Account Files, from the Card/Key/ Account Files menu select
B - Edit User File (s).
Enter the Card/Key Number and it will then ask you if you want to change
it, enter a Y. When validation status comes up enter V for valid. You
can keep
pressing the enter key to pass through the remaining prompts.
9. How
do I configure a replacement dial-in modem for the K800?
When replacing the dial-in modem
for the K800 you will have to make sure that the modem is Hayes compatible.
You can use a communication program such as Windows' HyperTerminal
to communicate with the modem. Send the following command strings to
the modem: AT&F, ATS0=1, AT&C1 AT&D2, ATE0, ATQ1, AT&W.
If the modem uses error correction make sure it is turned off. Different
modems use different commands to turn off error correction; see the
manufacturer's manual to determine the correct command string to send
to the modem.
